7. Are you actually Ready for Success?

Your answer is ‘yes', I know… but hear me out on something.

This is a sub-branch extended from a larger blog set I have written laying out tips and advice for Onlyfans Creators, but also independent Escorts, Performers, Sex Workers and whoever else getting started in the Adult Entertainment Industry.

This advice comes from a Content & Brand Production & Marketing perspective. This is not about doing the job itself.

The core post can be found HERE.

We’ve all seen people blow up and then blow out. And we sit there wondering how they could have possibly let that all slide. Well, that’s because Humans become lost in the emotions of the moment. They do not hold a concept of prolonged gratification, and absolutely no one is capable of handling the amount of power and influence this modern world of mass-communication and exposure makes possible.

Humans have evolved to deal with 150 people, tops, within an enclosed area of like 10miles, and that’s it. For the overwhelming majority of the 300K years we’ve spent as this species, and the millions we spent as something very similar before that, we spent it like that. Now, however, we have the utter insane asylum we live in now, and not a single one of us are capable of handling it. Look at all the top most successful people in terms of money and notoriety. All of them are insane. All of them have something weird going on. None of them you’d actually want to legitimately hang out with. No one can handle success without some effect.

In this world, the more you win, the more you lose, and let’s be honest here; you in particular are working in a very indulgent vocation. This whole game is the monetisation of a vice, which attracts indulgent people who regularly lose themselves to the muse. In fact it rewards you; the more you release, the more you express, the more you train your brain to stimulate and dump that dopamine, and the more the audience responds and more the money flows. This industry rewards you for losing control, and that is not a good formula long term.

So if you actually managed to hit it big… could you handle it?

Or would you instead just ‘reward yourself’ with that new bag? Would you get that apartment? Would you go on that trip? Perhaps have a shopping spree… again. Would you start buying slightly more expensive wine? Would you get that car? Would you splash out just this once and get this one quirky thing, and then just that once to get that other thing you totally need. But you also need that other ‘once’ over there to couple with this other ‘just once’, to then ‘once’ this ‘oncey-once’ with all that other ‘once’ because you deserve it, you deserve it, you deserve it… Oh why’d your card decline?

Prepare yourself for the risk of success, so that when it happens, you don’t squander it within the shock of over-indulgence and leave yourself with nothing upon the first dip in your numbers.

And that dip will happen. It will, whether sooner or later, it just will. In this industry especially you have a time limit and you cannot avoid that. It is imperative that you fashion that first spike of success into a means for prolonging the flight.

Start planning now for Day 2 of your big win.

It might also be good to habitualise your processes.

Regardless of how much you wind up making, the more squared away you make your processes and schedule, the more time and headspace you’re going to have remaining clear upon that emotional hit. You can then dedicate that towards branching out with your new wins to convert them into making more successive reliable wins.

When you first hit that initial wave of momentum, it’s very easy to spend that gain on upgrading your lifestyle in some way, a purely indulgent consumerist expense. Yes sure, celebrate your win, but I would suggest being prepared to instead put that money back into the business and your capabilities.

You’ve got this new, ‘very temporary’ spike of notoriety. How can you use it before it disappears?

Amplify the win.

You’ve gained 1000 of something, yeah, but can you instead use/spend that 1000 to make it easier to gain another 1000? Can you make it 10,000? That 10,000 might then become 100,000, and then by that stage, with that mentality, you can flip that to a million just fine.

Now what can you do with a million?

That’s how billionaires work. The richest most successful among us tend to get a negative rap for being squanderers and being overly indulgent. But when you actively look into them and their individual personalities, they’re actually not that way at all. It tends to be the ‘new money’ crowd who make a sweep in the mid-level of 10s of millions, who over-indulge and take advantage of others and squander it. Everything they do is based upon instant gratification. The truely long-term successful big players, the ‘old money’ crowd, act completely different. That’s why they stay legit… despite losing their minds in the process because none of us can handle success.

Plan now for Day2.
